A child spins in place on purpose just to get dizzy. A swing, a roller coaster, the rush of fingers that can't keep up in a rhythm game, the immersion of VR — all children of this spring. Caillois called it ilinx, vertigo. Of the four springs, it's the hardest to explain and the closest to the body — video games have kept inventing new ways to draw from it through screen and sound.
