VR & Vertigo
In 1962, Sensorama, patented by Morton Heilig, was a box that added smell, sound, seat vibration, and wind to stereoscopic film. It was not a game -- it was a sensory device. Nintendo's Virtual Boy (1995) failed: monochrome red stereo vision, a heavy headset, and few games. Seventeen years later, in 2012, an Oculus crowdfunding campaign passed a million dollars within days, and in 2018, Beat Saber settled swinging your arms to music into something lasting. This current alone draws straight from vertigo, one of the four springs -- the same joy a child feels spinning in place until the world tilts. This particular line is this map's own reading.
